Osogbo Grammar Schoool Digital Literacy

DIGITAL RIGHTS AND ONLINE SAFETY TRAINING

Between August and December 2025, TeliyTech Initiative took a bold step toward building safer, smarter, and more inclusive digital spaces for young people in Nigeria. What started as a targeted school outreach quickly grew into a powerful movement for digital rights, online safety, and youth digital literacy.

THE CHALLENGE

Across many public secondary schools, students actively use the internet but often without adequate knowledge of their digital rights, online safety, or legitimate digital opportunities. This gap exposes young people to cyberbullying, online scams, misinformation, and risky “get-rich-quick” practices.

TeliyTech Initiative stepped in to close this gap by meeting students where they are and equipping them with practical, life-shaping digital knowledge

OUR RESPONSE

From August to December 2025,TeliyTech Initiative implemented school-based Digital Rights and Online Safety Awareness Programs across public secondary schools in Osogbo, Osun State.

To ensure quality delivery, the initiative began with a structured volunteer recruitment and training phase. In early October 2025, five volunteers were trained through an online facilitation session focused on:

  • Digital rights and responsibilities
  • Online safety education
  • Youth engagement and facilitation skills
  • Armed with the right tools and knowledge, the team moved directly into schools.

WHERE WE WORKED

  • Laro Grammar School, Osogbo – October 2025
  • Osogbo Grammar School, Osogbo – November 2025

Each outreach session was designed to be interactive and relatable, combining real-life digital scenarios, open discussions, and question-and-answer segments that encouraged students to speak, reflect, and learn.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED

In just five months, the impact exceeded expectations
